The team responded to a callout after an individual sustained an injury following a fall at Aira Force. Rescuers found the casualty near the waterfall, noting that recent rainfall and frozen ground had made paths very slippery. The person was treated on site before being evacuated by stretcher.

Dundonnell Mountain Rescue Team responded to an incident where two teenagers were found struggling in deep snow near the Loch Toll an Lochain area. After a prolonged effort, the rescue team successfully retrieved both individuals safely.

Injury (Broken Ankle) Lake District
A full team callout was initiated after a lone walker slipped on the path near Gatesgarth, Buttermere. The team attended and administered analgesia while splinting the ankle before transporting the casualty to the road for onward care by ambulance.

The team was called out near Scar House Reservoir following reports of distressed persons struggling with icy and snowy driving conditions. Upon arrival, it was confirmed that the fire service and ambulance crews had already made contact with the individuals and were providing necessary support.

A local musician passed away while hillwalking on a Scottish mountain following his birthday celebrations. His family expressed their gratitude to the Arrochar Mountain Rescue Team for their assistance during this time.

Injury/Medical Emergency Scotland
The rescue team was called out on Tuesday evening to assist a walker who had sustained what was suspected to be a broken leg on the Cobbler. The casualty was reached by a doctor already in the area and a winchman paramedic from the Coastguard helicopter. Following assessment, members of the team assisted with moving the individual before they were winched for hospital transfer.

Fall/Injury Pennines
The team responded to an incident involving a 68-year-old woman who had fallen while walking in the Silverdale area. Volunteers attended to her at the scene and subsequently stretchered her approximately one kilometre along the marsh to the roadhead for onward transport.

The team responded to several incidents early in 2026, including assisting with a leg injury at Pen y Fan and locating individuals near Claerwen Reservoir. They also assisted in reuniting a missing person party at Pont ar Daf and managing an ankle injury evacuation from Pen y Fan.
Outcome: Casualties were assessed, treated, and evacuated to appropriate medical care.

A walker sustained a significant lower leg injury after slipping on North Berwick Law. The rescue unit attended the scene to administer pain relief and plan an extraction route before transporting the individual.

The rescue team reported that 2025 was their busiest year in their history, with them being contacted 182 times across their operational area. Notable incidents included an airlift of a walker from Pen-y-Fan on January 2nd and assistance provided when a woman collapsed while walking near Talybont-on-Usk.

A hillwalker was reported missing on Ben Vane near Arrochar after failing to return at the expected time on New Year's Eve. Emergency services located the individual later that evening, and it was confirmed that he had sadly passed away at the scene.

Stranding/Difficult Terrain Snowdonia Serious incident
A mountain rescue team successfully assisted a family of four who were stranded on Pen yr Ole Wen due to difficult wintry conditions. The group was guided back to safety by five rescuers after they found a steep rock section too dangerous to pass in the fading light.
Outcome: All safe and recovered
Lost Person Search Highlands
Members of the Torridon Mountain Rescue Team were called out on Christmas Eve to search for a lost walker west of Beinn Alligin. After several hours of searching, the team successfully located the individual and guided them back to safety.

Mountain Rescue/Getting Stuck Snowdonia Serious incident
Llanberis Mountain Rescue Team responded to multiple call-outs in November involving young men who were found to have underestimated the difficulty of the terrain. One incident detailed how a group became stuck on Crib Goch due to poor planning and deteriorating weather, requiring rescue after several hours.
Outcome: All individuals were safely rescued and treated by the mountain rescue team.
Hypothermia/Cold Weather Emergency Lake District
On Christmas Day, a mountain rescue team attended to a walker who was struggling in the cold conditions at Dove Crag. The individual received medical treatment on the fell and was subsequently assisted off the hill by the volunteers.

Missing Person/Water Rescue Pennines Serious incident
Mountain rescue teams were called out on 22 December 2025 to assist in a search for an individual reported missing after swimming in the River Ribble at Marles Wood. The search concluded later that day when police discovered and recovered a body from the water.

Outcome: The casualty was airlifted to hospital with a suspected significant ankle break.
Fall/Entrapment Pennines
Mountain Rescue volunteers attended an incident on the banks of the River Lune in Halton following a call from the North West Ambulance Service. An 89-year-old male was found unable to move after falling into mud and brambles. He was safely stretchered out by the team and handed over to paramedics.
Outcome: Safe recovery
Recovery/Missing Person South West
Search and Rescue teams were deployed to search a river in Tewkesbury, supporting local constabulary. After several days of searching, teams successfully located and recovered the body of a young man who had entered the River Avon on Friday, 19 December.

Missing Person Search Pennines Serious incident
A multi-agency search operation took place in the Appley Bridge area for a missing young male over several days. The search concluded with the discovery of the individual deceased on Christmas Day.

Fall/Injury Yorkshire Dales
A team was called out to Cow and Calf, Ilkley, following reports of an individual who had fallen and sustained a lower leg injury. Initial assessment found the person also suffering from stage 1 hypothermia, and after medical care arrived, the team assisted with a stretcher carry for safe transfer.

Missing Person Search South West
The search and rescue team assisted police in searching for a high-risk missing person near Looe on Sunday, December 7th. The search was conducted despite heavy rainfall across the Morval area until the individual was found to have returned home safely.
Outcome: Person located and safe
