Cumbria Police received a report of a caller near Lingmell Beck on 20 July 2026, but the call disconnected before details could be obtained. Location fixes from the phone indicated the caller was moving toward Brackenclose car park. The team was stood down after determining the caller had safely descended the hill.

A walker fell and sustained an ankle dislocation near Burrator Reservoir. Team members assessed the casualty, administered pain relief, and reduced the dislocation before evacuating her by stretcher to Norsworthy Bridge where she was handed to ambulance personnel for transport to hospital.

A male walker sustained a head injury after falling on Swirral Edge, Helvellyn, on Saturday 18 July. Patterdale Mountain Rescue Team and the Great North Air Ambulance Service responded, with the casualty airlifted from the summit and transferred to hospital for further treatment.

A male walker became exhausted and severely dehydrated approximately 200 metres below the summit of Scafell Pike and was unable to continue. Members of the public provided food and water, which helped him recover sufficiently to descend with assistance from the Mountain Rescue Team.

A male with leg and head injuries was discovered near Ill Crag by a member of the public. The Coastguard Rescue helicopter arrived first, treated the casualty, and airlifted him to Carlisle Airport for onward transport to hospital. Mountain Rescue Team was stood down once the casualty was airborne.

A 15-year-old female required recovery from a footpath near the river by Easby Abbey. The ambulance service had already recovered the casualty by the time mountain rescue team members arrived on scene, and the team were stood down.

A male casualty with a lower leg injury was located near Keld and required specialist technical rescue to be extracted up steep ground. The casualty was recovered to the path and transferred by stretcher to Keld for handover to an ambulance.

A walker suffered a suspected lower back injury after a fall near Warnscale Beck in the Lake District on 18 July. The casualty was treated by Cockermouth Mountain Rescue Team, carried to the lakeshore at Buttermere, and airlifted by Coastguard Rescue 897 to Cumberland Infirmary.

Longtown Mountain Rescue responded to a report of a person with a suspected arm injury in Llangattock near Crickhowell on 17 July. Volunteer medics assessed and treated the casualty, working collaboratively with the Wales Air Ambulance crew, before the person was safely stretchered down to an awaiting ambulance.

A female spectator fell down a steep bank at a local event and required technical rescue assistance. Fifteen team members worked with the Air Ambulance and Yorkshire Ambulance Service to recover the casualty up the steep ground to the waiting ambulance.

A hillwalker became stuck in a bog while descending Beinn Laith Mhor Fannich in foggy conditions and was rescued by Dundonnell Mountain Rescue Team. The casualty was found to be uninjured but cold, and was warmed and transported to their vehicle. This callout occurred during a busy 24-hour period that also included assisting a walker with heat-related illness on Ben Wyvis and searching for an overdue walker in Glen Cannich.

A male collapsed in cardiac arrest at Cuerden Valley Country Park on 17th July. Despite treatment by paramedics and air ambulance, he was pronounced deceased at the scene. Mountain rescue assisted with access to the remote location.

A female mountain biker was rescued after sustaining injuries from a fall on a remote track above Ilton. Team members provided medical treatment for cuts and suspected elbow and pelvic injuries before the casualty was transported by road ambulance.

A member of the public reported hearing a sheep in distress on Newby Moss near Ingleborough. Team members located the animal stuck approximately 10 feet down a pothole and successfully recovered it, reuniting it with the flock.

A large wildfire at Dovestone Reservoir in the Peak District burned for several days, destroying miles of moorland. Oldham Mountain Rescue supported Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service by providing medical cover, transporting crews and equipment via 4x4 vehicles, and guiding fire crews to access points. A 20-year-old woman has been charged with aggravated arson in connection with the fire.

A 17-year-old male fell from height into heavy vegetation on the bank of the River Lune in Lancaster on 14 July. The mountain rescue team was called at 04:40 but stood down after determining paramedics could treat the casualty and an escape route was available.

A walker sustained a lower leg injury near Longaford Tor and was attended by South Western Ambulance Service Trust and the team on 14 July. The Devon Air Ambulance was able to land at the scene and evacuate the casualty to hospital.

A female hiker was injured near the summit of Ben Bhraggie and airlifted to hospital by coastguard rescue helicopter. Assynt Mountain Rescue Team members provided first aid and assisted in the evacuation, which occurred around midday on Monday with twelve team volunteers deployed.

A teenage female was reported fitting and unresponsive on Loughrigg. The team found her suffering from heat-related illness, treated her, and escorted her from the hill.

A hillwalker suffered a soft tissue injury to their lower leg on Sgùrr Breac in Wester Ross on Monday evening, making walking unbearable. The casualty managed to descend approximately 5 km from the summit before stopping to call for assistance. Dundonnell Mountain Rescue Team responded with nineteen volunteers, treated the casualty, and evacuated them by stretcher to the team vehicles.

A motorcyclist fell from his bike on a public byway near Hodge Close and sustained a leg injury. The team assisted North West Ambulance Service by carrying the casualty on a stretcher from the track to an ambulance on the road.
