The Oban Mountain Rescue Team was called out following multiple floods and landslides in the area, where they reported that everyone involved in an incident south of Ardfern were safe. Additionally, ten motorists were rescued by helicopter near Inveraray after becoming trapped between landslides.

Chris Lewis, a 62-year-old volunteer with Patterdale Mountain Rescue Team, died of pneumonia on 3 September 2023, more than two years after suffering a serious fall while on a rescue callout. Lewis had fallen 150 metres on Red Screes in February 2021, sustaining spinal injuries and facial fractures that left him wheelchair-dependent, but he continued to contribute to the team as a trustee until his death.

A 27-year-old man died after entering the river at Sgwd y Pannwr waterfall in Ystradfellte while attempting to rescue two children on Friday evening, 2 September 2023. His body was recovered the following morning by specialist divers from the cave rescue team.

A group of walkers became lost in the Dove Stone Reservoir area near the Trinnacle, a precarious rock formation popular on social media. Some were rescued by helicopter from Middle Edge Moss. A glider crashed into Waun Fach in the Black Mountains on 17 August 2023 at approximately 13:52 BST. The pilot sustained injuries that were not life-threatening and was airlifted to hospital in Cwmbran. The Air Accident Investigation Branch referred the matter to the British Gliding Association.

A kayaker capsized in choppy conditions in the Bristol Channel near Denny Island on 14 August 2023. The Severn Area Rescue Association lifeboat, which had spoken to the kayaker earlier that morning, returned to the area after noticing he was missing and located him clinging to his overturned kayak. He was rescued and taken to Portishead Lifeboat Station.

A man fell approximately five metres while attempting to jump between Tryfan's Adam and Eve rocks on the summit, sustaining head and spinal injuries.
