Lomond Hills, Fife

A paraglider suffered a serious open fracture to his left ankle after twisting his leg and falling into a gully while launching in the Lomond Hills in summer 2020. He was attended by Ochils Mountain Rescue and airlifted to hospital, where doctors successfully saved his foot. He has since recovered and is now considering joining the mountain rescue team.

Outcome: casualty airlifted to hospital; foot saved by medical intervention
