Bidean nam Bian, Glencoe

A hillwalker was stranded on Bidean nam Bian in Glencoe for 17 hours in severe winter conditions after the rescue team withdrew due to extreme weather, avalanche risk and poor visibility. The search resumed at first light, and an RAF helicopter assisted in locating the casualty near the summit suffering from cold exposure. The walker was evacuated by stretcher and helicopter to hospital for further care.
