Scottish Highlands, east of Ben Nevis
An experienced walker suffered a broken leg after slipping on a snowy mountain in the Scottish Highlands, a few miles east of Ben Nevis. With no mobile signal and in a remote location, he activated a personal satellite tracker device which alerted emergency services within minutes. He was airlifted by HM Coastguard helicopter to Inverness hospital where he underwent two operations and is now recovering at home.
