Hartsop Valley / Threshwaite Mouth

A woman slipped and injured her ankle in Hartsop Valley near Threshwaite Mouth on Saturday, 8 November. Despite attempting self-rescue, swelling and pain prevented her from walking out, and Patterdale Mountain Rescue stretchered her down the valley in a five-hour operation involving multiple rope lowers in darkness. She was taken to hospital for further treatment.
