cold and wet camper, self-rescue request Lake District

Dollywagon Pike

A lone camper became cold and wet while camping near the summit of Dollywagon Pike on 30 November and called for help after initially refusing assistance from walkers. Patterdale Mountain Rescue sent three team members to support the camper safely off the fell in extremely windy conditions.

Outcome: camper escorted safely off the fell by team members

Support the team who responded. They turn out unpaid, in all weather — every team is a volunteer-run charity.
