A walker who tripped and fell down a steep bank near Wetheral was rescued after becoming trapped in a hornets nest. Penrith Mountain Rescue Team, working with Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service and the North West Ambulance Service, used a rope system to haul the casualty and stretcher up the slope before transferring them to an ambulance.
Outcome: casualty evacuated by stretcher to ambulance
