Hay Stacks, Buttermere
A 56-year-old man fell 10 feet on Hay Stacks above Buttermere on Sunday, injuring his shoulder. Passing walkers raised the alarm and assisted the casualty. He was treated by Cockermouth Mountain Rescue Team and a Coastguard helicopter and winched to Cumberland Infirmary in Carlisle for further treatment.
Outcome: casualty winched into helicopter and flown to Cumberland Infirmary for further treatment
