A runner collapsed from heat exhaustion during a 55-mile mountain race in Grisedale Valley. He was airlifted by coastguard helicopter and evacuated to hospital after initial assessment by the mountain rescue team. The rescue involved Patterdale Mountain Rescue Team and took approximately two and a half hours.
