Hartsop, near Howe

A lone walker became confused and lost on the fell above Hartsop on Friday evening, spending the night in cold and wet conditions whilst suffering suspected hypothermia. Found by passing walkers the next morning, the casualty was assisted to a car park and provided with warm drinks, food, and dry clothing by the rescue team. Patterdale MRT described the walker as extremely fortunate to have survived the night.
