Kinder Scout

Overdue walker Peak District

The team was called out late in the evening regarding an overdue walker on Kinder Scout. A large search operation involving neighbouring teams and police resources was planned until a further report confirmed the missing person had safely found their way down.

Outcome: Person safe/Found

Marple Bridge

Medical Evacuation/Assistance Peak District

The team responded to an incident late on the evening to assist the North West Ambulance Service with the evacuation of an injured male near a canal. The casualty was successfully transported using the team's stretcher and wheel to the waiting ambulance.

Outcome: Casualty safely evacuated

Kinder Scout

Lost persons Peak District

The team was called out to a party of two reported lost on Kinder Scout just before their scheduled training session. Another group of walkers encountered the missing individuals and assisted them back to Edale, allowing the rescue team to track their safe return.

Outcome: Safe recovery/No injury reported

Kinder Scout

Exhaustion/Assistance Peak District

A fell runner encountered an elderly walker who had become too exhausted to continue on the top of Kinder Scout. After initial attempts to assist were unsuccessful, help was called for. The gentleman was subsequently carried by the team back to Edale Cross and handed over to the Ambulance service.

Outcome: Transported from scene to hospital for assessment

Kinder Scout

Head injury/Medical assistance Peak District

Outcome: The injured individual was assessed and able to continue walking after initial medical advice. The team successfully escorted both individuals down to Hayfield.

Penton/Kershope Forest

Search and Rescue Lake District

Mountain rescue teams were called out to assist with a multi-day search for a missing person near Penton/Kershope Forest. After extensive searching involving numerous agencies and resources over several days, the individual was eventually located by a police dog on Tuesday afternoon.

Outcome: Missing person found alive

Kerridge Ridge

Injury/Evacuation Peak District

The team responded to a request for assistance regarding a walker who sustained a knee injury on Kerridge Ridge. While ambulance crews located and treated the individual, they required support transporting the casualty from the ridge down to the waiting ambulance on the road below.

Outcome: Casualty safely transported from the ridge to an ambulance.

Buxworth

Concern for paraglider Peak District

The team was called out following a report that a paraglider had been seen near Buxworth and there were concerns regarding the person's welfare. After an air search conducted by the Police, it was determined that no further assistance from the mountain rescue team was required.

Outcome: No action required

Medical Emergency/Evacuation Peak District

The team responded to a wild camper who had become unwell in the Cluther Rocks area of Kinder Scout on Saturday evening. Following an initial assessment at Moorgate, it was determined that assistance was required to safely bring the casualty off the hill.

Outcome: Casualty safely transported from the location.

Ashop Head Kinder Scout

Medical Emergency/Evacuation Peak District

A walker was reported to be suffering from breathing difficulties near Ashop Head steps on a Saturday afternoon. Following assessment by team members, the casualty required rapid evacuation and enhanced care, leading to a helicopter transfer to hospital.

Outcome: Transported by air for further medical treatment
