Kern Knotts, Great Gable

Fall/Injury Lake District

A call was received regarding a male who had fallen at Kern Knotts, sustaining injuries to his head and hand. MRT personnel were deployed immediately from base, where the casualty was assessed and treated on scene before being walked off the hill for onward care.

Outcome: Treated and evacuated by ambulance

Lingmell Beck

Injury (Fall) Lake District

A male sustained an upper-leg injury after falling near a stream crossing on Lingmell Beck. Although the Mountain Rescue Team was called out, the casualty had already been assisted off the hill by others before the team arrived at the car park.

Outcome: Assisted down; advised further medical assessment

Dehydration/Minor Medical Incident Lake District

A member of the public alerted authorities regarding a walker on the Corridor Route who was showing signs of dehydration. Following initial support from others present, the casualty recovered sufficiently and was able to continue his walk safely off the mountain.

Outcome: Recovered and able to continue walking

Stand Crag

Lost/Navigation Difficulty Lake District

Wasdale MRT responded to Cumbria Police regarding a group of nine people who were reported lost near Stand Crag. After making contact and advising the group to walk downhill towards Wasdale, team members located all individuals safe and well near Wasdale Head.

Outcome: All safe

Hollowstones, Scafell Pike

Injured & Medical Lake District

A full callout was required for an individual who sustained a knee injury while descending from Hollowstones on Scafell Pike. The casualty was assessed and stabilised at the scene before being stretchered down the hill and handed over to friends for onward transport.

Outcome: Handed over to friends for onward transport home.

Scafell Pike

Lost/Separated Lake District

Cumbria Police contacted the Wasdale MRT regarding a party of three who had become separated on Scafell Pike. After initial difficulties with communication, it was confirmed that all members of the group were safely descending from the mountain.

Outcome: All safe

Miterdale / Eskdale

Missing Person Lake District

Cumbria Police requested assistance in searching for a missing person within Eskdale. Multiple mountain rescue teams and search dogs were deployed to cover the area until the individual was located inside their tent.

Outcome: Person found alive

Minor assistance/Guidance Lake District

Wasdale MRT was contacted by Cumbria Police regarding a couple and their dog needing assistance at the bad step on the Corridor Route. After establishing phone contact, the Team Leader provided reassurance and guidance, enabling the individuals to safely navigate past the obstacle themselves.

Outcome: No further assistance required
