A walker who fell on Alphin Pike near Dovestone Reservoir and sustained a head injury was rescued by Oldham Mountain Rescue after 3.5 hours. Eighteen team members deployed from Bradbury Farm, with medics assessing the casualty before evacuating them by stretcher down steep terrain using safety ropes. The casualty was transferred to an ambulance for further treatment.

Moffat Mountain Rescue Team responded to a callout for an injured young walker on Criffel. The team assessed the casualty and provided pain relief and splinting before safely extracting them from the hillside using a stretcher. The individual was subsequently transferred to the Scottish Ambulance Service for onward care.

A walker sustained a lower leg injury at Threshthwaite Mouth in the Lake District and was rescued by Patterdale Mountain Rescue Team. The casualty was treated on scene by team medical personnel, secured in a stretcher, and evacuated over difficult terrain before being transferred to hospital. The rescue involved 13 volunteers and took approximately four and a half hours.

Search efforts for a missing walker have continued over the past week whenever weather conditions permitted. The individual was last seen on Thursday, 9th October 2025, and extensive searches have been conducted since that time.

Mountain rescue teams were called out to assist a mountain biker who had sustained a serious arm injury with arterial bleeding in Dalby Forest. The casualty was assessed on arrival and subsequently transported via Bell stretcher to an ambulance for onward air evacuation.

Two walkers attempted to climb the Crib Goch knife edge ridge on Snowdon during Storm Amy, triggering a mountain rescue callout in treacherous conditions with wind gusts exceeding 80mph. The incident prompted a joint statement from three mountain rescue teams emphasising the dangers of mountaineering in severe weather and the risks faced by both walkers and rescuers.

A walker was found sheltering behind a boulder while suffering from mild hypothermia during adverse weather conditions. The team successfully airlifted the individual to Stornoway hospital for assessment.

A rescue operation was carried out on Great Dodd near Keswick during Storm Amy when winds reached up to 80mph. The call-out involved a fell-runner who had twisted an ankle after setting off from Ambleside. During the five-hour incident, one of the volunteers also sustained a leg injury.

Outcome: Injuries sustained by both the casualty and a volunteer; all were safe.

A rescue team was requested by Bolton MRT on Saturday, 4th October, to assist with extricating a 79-year-old male from a wood area near Wigan. The team was stood down en route as sufficient agencies were already present at the scene.

Outcome: No further action required (Stood down)

During an exercise near the team's headquarters, a casualty became unwell after vomiting. Following assessment, it was determined that the individual had type 2 Diabetes and had not eaten since lunchtime.

Patterdale Mountain Rescue Team attended to an injured walker on Great Dodd Fell during Storm Amy on 1 October 2025. The walker had twisted his ankle at the summit and was evacuated by stretcher in extreme conditions with winds reaching 80mph; one team member also sustained a leg injury during the five-hour operation.

A man fell two to three metres from an exposed and steep section of the Buttermere lakeshore path on Monday, 29 September, sustaining significant and painful injuries. Keswick and Cockermouth mountain rescue teams attended and provided medical care before packaging him onto a stretcher and hauling him back to the path. The casualty was evacuated to an awaiting ambulance after a rescue lasting two hours and 34 minutes.

A walker who was suffering from exhaustion after vomiting became stranded on the banks of Loch Lomond while on the West Highland Way. Rescue teams, including boat crews and park rangers, were called out near Inversnaid to assist with the extraction.

A walker on the West Highland Way became stranded on the banks of Loch Lomond near Inversnaid due to exhaustion and vomiting. Lomond Mountain Rescue Team, assisted by Loch Lomond Rescue Boat and National Park rangers, located and evacuated the casualty by stretcher and boat on Sunday evening.

The rescue team was called out by Lancashire Constabulary to attend an elderly male who had fallen from his motorbike on the Salter Fell track. After assessing the initial injury as a clavicle fracture, the volunteers safely moved the casualty off the fell and handed him over to the Ambulance Service.

The team was called by their neighbours to assist with a search for an 82-year-old male who had been missing since the previous night. Fortunately, the individual was located safely as the mountain rescue volunteers were arriving at the scene.

A 76-year-old Edinburgh grandfather was lost for eight days in the Highlands after attempting to walk from Glenfinnan to Knoydart on the Cape Wrath Trail. Bad weather caused him to lose his way, damaging his equipment and preventing communication. He was found on his eighth day by the local estate owner and deer stalkers, and was treated at Belford Hospital.

A mountain biker sustained an injury after colliding with a tree while cycling in the woods at Healey Nab. Team members attended the scene to provide initial medical assessment and care before safely assisting the individual out of the woods.

A walker collapsed during a steep ascent to Glenridding Dodd above Glenridding village on Sunday morning. Team medics assessed the casualty as stable, and they were evacuated by stretcher using a technical rope system, then handed to ambulance crews for further care. This was the seventh callout for Patterdale MRT in six days.
