Snowdon and Idwal Slabs, Snowdonia
A couple became lost on Snowdon's Pyg Track descent on New Year's Day 2017 after attempting to reach the summit in sleet and snow. The man developed medical problems and was evacuated by coastguard helicopter, while the woman was assisted by Llanberis Mountain Rescue Team. In a separate incident the same night, two climbers stranded on Idwal Slabs were brought to safety by Ogwen mountain rescue team after a seven-hour operation.
