injured walker Snowdonia

Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon), Llanberis Path

An injured walker was rescued from snow-covered Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon) on the Llanberis Path after falling in winter conditions. Llanberis Mountain Rescue Team, RAF Mountain Rescue Service, and a coastguard helicopter responded to assist three walkers stuck in snow and cloud. The casualty, who was extremely cold and mildly hypothermic, was found to have a soft tissue knee injury rather than a fracture and was evacuated by stretcher.

Outcome: casualty evacuated by stretcher with support from RAF Mountain Rescue Team
