A family of three became lost in darkness on the hillside above Dovestones Reservoir on the evening of Saturday, 4 January. Oldham Mountain Rescue Team and a National Police Air Service helicopter located them at Ashway using phone tracking technology. The family were found to be very cold, provided with extra clothing, walked down safely, and checked by the ambulance service before returning home.

Outcome: found safe, walked off with support
