crag-fast walkers Snowdonia

Crib Goch, Snowdon

Two walkers became cragfast on the south-eastern flank of Crib Goch in icy conditions and were winched to safety by a Coastguard helicopter with assistance from Llanberis Mountain Rescue Team. The pair, who were inadequately equipped for winter terrain, sustained no injuries during the two-hour rescue operation.

Outcome: both walkers winched to safety by helicopter and airlifted to Llanberis MRT base, uninjured

Support the team who responded. They turn out unpaid, in all weather — every team is a volunteer-run charity.
