Buttermere
A walker sustained an ankle injury on Boxing Day at Buttermere in the Lake District. Cockermouth Mountain Rescue attended and provided first aid, splinting and warming the casualty before transferring them to Buttermere village for onward hospital transport. The operation involved 21 team members and lasted three hours.
Outcome: casualty splinted and transported to hospital by ambulance
