Arthur's Seat, Edinburgh

A 42-year-old walker slipped and broke his leg near the top of Arthur's Seat in Edinburgh on snowy conditions. Tweed Valley Mountain Rescue Team, along with police, ambulance, fire and rescue services, and a Coastguard helicopter, worked together to lower the casualty down the steepest section using rope rescue techniques before carrying him to an ambulance at Dunsapie Loch.

Outcome: casualty evacuated by stretcher via multi-agency rope rescue

Support the team who responded. They turn out unpaid, in all weather — every team is a volunteer-run charity.
