Honister Slate Mine, Lake District
A Herdwick sheep became stuck on a ledge above the Via Ferrata at Honister Slate Mine in the Lake District. Three Cockermouth Mountain Rescue Team volunteers accessed the sheep via rock climbing, secured it, and lowered it to safety before guiding it back down the via ferrata.
Outcome: sheep safely recovered and returned to lower ground
