Swirral Edge, Helvellyn, Lake District

A walker suffered serious injuries in a 100-metre fall on Swirral Edge during the descent from Helvellyn on Saturday afternoon. He was treated at the scene by medics winched down by coastguard helicopter and airlifted to Royal Preston Hospital's major trauma unit.
