The team was requested to assist with an ongoing search operation in Dorset. Although they were unable to provide personnel for the callout, they were pleased to learn that the situation had been successfully resolved.

The team responded to the Police request to search for a missing woman in the Tavistock area. The individual was subsequently located safely near her residence while information was being gathered to plan the search.

Dovestone reservoir

Fall/Injury Peak District

Mountain rescue teams were called out on Sunday after a walker fell at Dovestone Reservoir near Saddleworth Moor. Specialist teams located the individual, who sustained multiple injuries including a suspected broken arm, before they were transported to hospital.

Outcome: Transported to hospital

Lee Moor

Missing Person Search Dartmoor

Search dog teams were requested to assist with a search in the Lee Moor area for a missing male. However, team members were stood down en route after police successfully located the individual.

Steng-a-tor / Dartmoor

Missing Person Search Dartmoor

A search was conducted for a missing walker who had become lost in the soft ground near Steng-a-tor after calling for help as night approached. The individual was eventually located between Kitty Tor and Steng-a-tor and assessed by medical personnel to have no injuries.

Outcome: Found and safe

Tryfan, Ogwen Valley

Fall/Injury Rescue Snowdonia

A seven-hour rescue operation was conducted in Eryri after a walker sustained leg and ankle injuries following a 10-metre fall on Tryfan. Mountain rescue teams performed a complex technical rope rescue to safely bring the injured individual down the mountainside.

Outcome: Casualty treated and handed over to ambulance service

Cairngorms

Fall/Injury Pennines

During winter training in the Cairngorms, team members responded to another walker who had fallen on the path and sustained injuries to both arms. The injured person was assessed for a left wrist and right shoulder injury before being evacuated off the mountain with assistance from local Ski Patrol.

Outcome: Evacuated for further treatment

Crib Goch and Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon)

Search and recovery/Fatality Snowdonia Serious incident

Two young men were found deceased on the Crib y Ddysgl ridge near the summit of Yr Wyddfa after being reported missing. Search efforts were conducted by multiple rescue teams in challenging winter conditions before the bodies were located.

Outcome: Fatalities confirmed; inquest opened.

An Teallach

Search and Rescue (Fatal) Highlands Serious incident

A search was conducted for three people who had become in difficulties on Sgurr Fiona, a summit on An Teallach. Two individuals were located and one required hospital treatment; the body of the third person was recovered later.

Outcome: One fatality, two rescued

Neidpath Castle, Peebles

Injury (Lower Limb) Southern Uplands

Mountain rescue teams were called out on Wednesday evening to assist a casualty who had sustained a lower limb injury near Neidpath Castle in Peebles. The operation required the use of a stretcher due to muddy and rough ground conditions, and the casualty was eventually taken by ambulance.

Outcome: Transported to hospital/medical attention

Cragfast/Lost Person Rescue Highlands Serious incident

A walker became stranded on the north-eastern slopes of Sgurr Fiona on An Teallach after taking a wrong turn. A complex rescue operation involving multiple teams and assets lasted for approximately 20 hours before the individual was safely brought back to the team base.

Outcome: The individual was safely rescued and found to be in good health.

Howgills, Bowderdale

Injury/Fell Race Lake District Serious incident

A runner sustained a lower leg injury while participating in a fell race in Bowderdale. The team provided treatment and extracted the individual to the road via stretcher for handover to ambulance services.

Ben Nevis, Scottish Highlands

Missing Person Search Highlands

Search and rescue crews deployed drones and dogs to locate a hiker who went missing while traversing rugged terrain near Ben Nevis. Extensive searches are continuing despite challenging weather conditions.

Ben Klibreck, Sutherland

Stretcher Rescue/Injury Highlands

The team completed an overnight stretcher rescue of a hiker with a lower leg injury on Ben Klibreck in difficult weather conditions. Following the initial rescue, the team also conducted searches for missing persons at Eas a' Chual Aluinn and assisted another local mountain rescue team earlier in the week.

Outcome: Casualty safely transported to lower slopes and onward care.

Missing persons search Snowdonia

Search operations were conducted in the Eryri mountain range following reports of two missing men. During these searches, bodies were discovered.

Outcome: Fatalities found

Fionn Bheinn

Dog Rescue/Cornice Incident Highlands

A group of hikers were approaching the summit of Fionn Bheinn when their dogs fell through a cornice. The following morning, mountain rescue teams located one missing dog in a hollow below the summit after a cold night.

Outcome: One dog was safely recovered.

An Teallach

Search and Recovery Highlands Serious incident

Dundonnell Mountain Rescue Team was deployed to An Teallach following calls for assistance regarding three walkers. After extensive searching, two of the individuals were located, with one requiring hospital treatment. The body of their companion was subsequently recovered with the aid of RAF Lossiemouth.

Outcome: Two walkers found (one hospitalized); one body recovered.

Yes Tor

Injury (Ankle/Leg) Dartmoor

A casualty who was previously found after slipping near Yes Tor has since been discharged from the hospital. The individual expressed deep gratitude to the team for their assistance and recovery.

Outcome: Recovering, requiring surgery

Goat Fell mountain, Arran

Fall/Injury Scotland

A climber fell over 1,500 feet off Goat Fell mountain on Arran after encountering icy conditions. Despite sustaining injuries during the fall and subsequent trek for help, he was eventually found by members of the public and treated at a local hospital.

Outcome: Injured but survived; received medical treatment.

Ben Nevis / Torlundy

Skiing/Mountain Rescue Highlands Serious incident

Emergency services were called to a man injured near Torlundy in the Nevis Range area following heavy snow. He was among several people rescued from Ben Nevis and Aonach Mòr that day. The individual sadly passed away at the hospital on Wednesday.

Outcome: Fatality

Yr Wyddfa

Search and Recovery Snowdonia

A multi-agency search operation was conducted on Yr Wyddfa following welfare concerns for two missing men. The bodies of the two individuals were eventually found and recovered by the rescue teams.

Outcome: Fatal
