1 incident Stretcher carry/Extraction Brecon Beacons
The team was called out on 17 July to assist other mountain rescue teams with what initially appeared to be a straightforward stretcher carry. Upon arrival, it became apparent that rope work was necessary for the extraction, requiring full integration of medical, ropes, and stretcher disciplines from all involved parties.
Outcome: Casualty safely moved to allow others to return to work

Police requested assistance in searching for a lost 16-year-old who was camping overnight. The team focused their search east of the River Plym and successfully located the young person relatively quickly. He was found safe and in good health.

The team responded to assist Devon and Cornwall Police with a search for a high-risk missing person near Derriford. After assembling at B&Q on Tavistock Road, the police reported that the individual had been found safe and well.

Flood response/Rescue Dartmoor Serious incident
The team responded to an incident involving heavy rainfall and potential flooding across the peninsula. They were deployed to various locations, including a caravan park at Notter Bridge, where the River Lynher had flooded homes and required evacuation. Working with multiple agencies, they successfully rescued eight individuals and two dogs.
Outcome: Eight people and two dogs rescued.

A 60-year-old walker died on An Teallach in Wester Ross after being reported overdue from a walk. His body was discovered by Dundonnell Mountain Rescue Team and an HM Coastguard helicopter around 8.45am. There were no suspicious circumstances.

A 46-year-old man from Yorkshire has been missing in Wester Ross since 1 May 2019. Dundonnell Mountain Rescue Team conducted further searches in Fisherfield Forest on 26 July with a search dog, but no new evidence was found.

Two climbers were found with hypothermia after being reported overdue from a climb. Following an extensive search involving multiple agencies, one of the individuals sadly passed away; the other remains in stable condition.

Two climbers were found hypothermic after being reported overdue from a climb in the Three Sisters ridges of Glencoe. They were located following an extensive search involving multiple agencies, and one man was airlifted to hospital in a life-threatening condition.

Mountain Rescue Service (SSSART) were called to assist another local team regarding a female with a broken ankle near Llyn Llagi. The casualty was assisted by multiple teams and subsequently carried to the Coastguard helicopter for evacuation.

Missing Person Search Snowdonia
The team responded to assist North Wales Police in searching for a vulnerable missing person near Arenig Fawr bothie. After initial searches at the first location, a second party searched another bothie in the Dolgellau area before the operation was stood down. The individual was later found safe and well.

3 incidents injured mountain biker Southern Uplands
Tweed Valley Mountain Rescue attended a mountain bike incident on a steep hillside near Innerleithen on Sunday afternoon. The rider sustained a leg injury in a fall and was evacuated by stretcher to the roadside before being transported to hospital.
Outcome: casualty evacuated by stretcher to roadside and taken to hospital
Aircraft accident/Rescue North East
A multi-agency response was launched following a crashed glider high up on The Cheviot in Northumberland. The operation involved personnel being airlifted to the site and culminated in a stretcher lowering for the pilot to be transferred to a waiting helicopter.
Outcome: Pilot was taken to hospital and is recovering.
Paragliding accident Highlands
A paraglider crashed near Stirling on Dumyat in the Ochil Hills. The Ochils Mountain Rescue Team and Ambulance Service responded to the scene, and a helicopter was used to airlift the individual to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow.
Outcome: Rescued and transported to hospital

A missing person was reported on 30 December after his car was found abandoned at Ardgartan car park in Glen Croe near Arrochar. Despite an extensive seven-day search in extreme terrain by Arrochar and Police Scotland mountain rescue teams, the man was not located and police continued their enquiries.
Outcome: not located after seven-day search

1 incident missing person Southern Uplands
A teenager was reported missing after failing to return from a late-night walk near Newcastleton in the Scottish Borders. Following an extensive overnight search involving mountain rescue teams, police, and dog handlers, the young person was located by a police officer on a minor road near the village at 6am after having taken a wrong turning in the forest.
Outcome: found safe by police officer

The team was called out to the Ben Lawers area to search for two missing hillwalkers. The individuals were successfully located using SARLOC technology and subsequently walked off the mountain by team members.

A 58-year-old walker died after falling on Carn Mor Dearg in Lochaber on Monday 16 July. Lochaber Mountain Rescue Team and a Coastguard helicopter attended but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

1 incident Body Recovery Pennines
Mountain rescue teams were called out to assist with the recovery of a body from Horrocks Moor near Smithills. Fifteen team members attended alongside police colleagues and used a stretcher to carry the person approximately 400 metres across the moor to an awaiting ambulance.
Outcome: Recovery completed

2 incidents stranded ambulances in snow South West
Two ambulances became stranded in heavy snow on Foxcote Lane near Stourbridge on 4 March 2018. Severn Area Rescue Association volunteers assisted in freeing both vehicles, which were blocking access to patients requiring emergency care. All patients were eventually reached and provided medical care.
Outcome: both ambulances recovered and towed to main road; all patients reached and treated
elderly couple trapped by snowdrifts Southern Uplands
An elderly couple aged 70 and 71 living in a remote home near West Linton became isolated when heavy snowdrifts up to 12 feet high surrounded their property. They were rescued by police officers and Tweed Valley Mountain Rescue Team after losing heating due to depleted firewood supplies. The couple and their two dogs were safely freed and are now staying with friends.
Outcome: couple freed safely with their two dogs, now staying with friends
