Striding Edge, Helvellyn
Patterdale Mountain Rescue attended to a walker with a lower leg injury on Striding Edge, Helvellyn on Saturday morning. Due to steep and rocky terrain, the team carefully lowered the casualty down the slope towards Red Tarn in deteriorating weather. The operation involved 10 team members over approximately five hours, with the casualty subsequently taken to hospital.
Outcome: casualty lowered by team and taken to hospital
